Songun politics guarantees peaceful reunification

 

Now all the Koreans at home and abroad are waging a vigorous struggle to achieve peace and reunification of the country under the banner of our nation-first principle. Though outside forces have intensified the maneuvers to provoke a war on the Korean Peninsula and cause an estrangement within the nation, the Korean people have been able to win great successes in the struggle for reconciliation, unity and peaceful reunification of the nation entirely thanks to Songun politics of north Korea.

The great Songun politics for the country and the nation is the basic key to peace and independent reunification of the nation.

Songun politics is the army-first politics of regarding the military as the first and foremost state affair and directing all energies to strengthening the military power on the basis of the viewpoint that the military power is the foundation in national defense.

It is the politics of national independence and national defense which rejects the outside forces' aggression and intervention and reliably safeguards the security and sovereignty of the entire nation.

In order for the Korean nation to achieve the independent reunification of the country, it must check the foreign forces' maneuvers for interference and war and remove the danger of war. Peace is a basic guarantee and prerequisite to independent reunification.

Peace of a country does not come of its own accord. It can be secured only by a strong military power.

Songun politics is a powerful weapon that prevents the danger of a nuclear war constantly hovering over the Korean Peninsula and secure peace of the country.

The United States, which is discontented with the reconciliation, unity and reunification of the Korean nation, drives the situation of the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war by waging various military exercises everyday. Recently alone, it has mapped out such anti-north Korea war plans as "operation plan 5030" and "new operation plan 5026" and deployed huge armed forces and lethal weapons in and around the Korean Peninsula, while paying lip-service to "peaceful settlement" of the nuclear issue. If its dangerous attempt for a nuclear war is materialized, nobody can assure that the 1,000-odd pieces of nuclear weapons deployed in south Korea will not explode and the whole Peninsula will be reduced to ashes. The mere thought of the losses the Korean nation may suffer make everybody shudder.

However, north Korea smashes the nuclear war moves of the United States and saves the entire nation in the north and the south from the crisis of nuclear calamities with the powerful military strength and deterrent of war prepared by Songun politics.

It is entirely because of the north Korea's Songun politics that the United States, which occupied Afghanistan and Iraq in disregard of international law and the UN charter, dares not provoke a war on the Korean Peninsula. But for the powerful self-defensive deterrent prepared by Songun politics, a war would have already broken out on this Peninsula and the Korean nation would have been unable to maintain its existence.

North Korea's Songun politics is a merciless blow to the aggressors but an iron shield and treasured weapon that defends the south Korean people with compatriotism.

After all, the way to realize the independent and peaceful reunification of the country is to follow Songun politics. Songun politics defending peace gives a firm confidence in independent and peaceful reunification to the Korean nation.

This is proved by the reality of south Korea where the anti-U.S., anti-outsiders movement for independence and peaceful reunification gets intensified day by day.

With the firm faith that the great Songun politics defends the nation and there is nothing to fear in the world when they unite under the banner of Songun, all the Korean nationals at home and abroad should turn out as one in the patriotic struggle for the peace and reunification of the country.
