Bush¡¯s move for
multi-national troops in Iraq faces frustration
The pitfall of
Iraqi war is very deep for Bush as the presidential race is drawing nearer. The
defiance of the Iraqi resistance forces becomes stronger and those countries
have turned their backs to Bush are increasing as days go by.
The Ukrainian
Defense Minister in a press conference held on July 29 hinted at the withdrawal
of the Ukrainian troops from Iraq, saying ¡°We can not remain in Iraq long
without fixing a certain period.¡±
A spokesman for
the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the clear stance that
Indonesia would not dispatch its troops to Iraq under the multi-national troops
controlled by the US.
The Algerian
Foreign Minister said that Algeria would not dispatch its troops to Iraq.
Pakistan announced on August 2
that it would not send its troops to Iraq despite pressure of the US. The
Pakistani President rejected its troop dispatch to Iraq on August 10. Saying that Pakistan
would not dispatch its troops to Iraq at present situation, he stressed that he
would not tolerate any kind of outside pressure. Nobody can force Pakistan to
send its troops to Iraq, he added.
