The powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Baekdu

 

 The military parade was held at the Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang on April 25 Juche 81 (1992) on the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of the north Korean People’s Army. It was reviewed by Marshal Kim Jong Il, supreme commander of the KPA. And the first column of the parade was that of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters.

This is a meaningful picture symbolically showing that the KPA is the revolutionary army of Mt. Baekdu that inherits the glorious traditions of the anti-Japanese revolution, the revolutionary spirit of Baekdu,

Marshal Kim Jong Il clarified that the KPA is the army of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the revolution that inherits the traditions of the anti-Japanese revolution.

He meant that the KPA is a strong revolutionary army of Mt. Baekdu that embodies the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Baekdu, regarding the revolutionary tradition of Mt. Baekdu as its historic root and the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Baekdu as its bloodline and lifeline.

The KPA is successor to the tradition of the anti-Japanese revolution produced in Mt. Baekdu and personifier of the anti-Japanese revolutionary spirit.

The tradition of the anti-Japanese revolution comprehends a precious ideological and spiritual treasure raging from the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the spirit of devotedly carrying out his instructions and the spirit of anti-imperialist struggle, the self-sacrificing spirit and the revolutionary spirit of working hard to the militant way of working and living the People’s Army should embody regarding them as guidelines.

The revolutionary spirit of Mt. Baekdu is a stubborn spirit of offensive braving manifold difficulties and a steadfast spirit of struggle.

By advancing the slogan “Let us train, study and live as the anti-Japanese guerillas did!,” Marshal Kim Jong Il saw to it that the KPA becomes defender, successor and personifier of the tradition of the anti-Japanese revolution that adheres to and inherits the anti-Japanese revolutionary tradition to the letter and applies the anti-Japanese revolutionary spirit in all military activities.

--Having Marshal Kim Jong Il, son of Mt. Baekdu, on its top post of the KPA, the KPA, successor to the anti-Japanese revolutionary tradition, made clear its characteristics as the revolutionary army of Mt. Baekdu and has hardened its mission as the leading force of accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

We could confirm the unshakable will of the powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Baekdu from the following declaration of Marshal Kim Jong Il, supreme commander of the KPA, which was made public when the north Korea-US showdown became acuter after the 1990s.

“That the KPA has grown into an ever-victorious revolutionary armed force equipped with both means of attack and defense and the entire people is armed and the whole country is fortified so they fully prepared to smash any formidable enemy at one stroke.

The north Korean people who value the national sovereignty and peace do not want war but not beg for peace even being infringed its dignity.

If the US and south Korea unleash a new war against the north Korean people and the army will fight to the end for the party and leader and people-centered socialism gained by bloody struggle to deal a fatal blow to the aggressors, thus demonstrate dignity and honor of north Korea throughout the world.

The enemy should know they dare not provoke north Korea.
