The vice-chairperson of the Central Committee of the NDFSK issued a press release supporting the New Year’s joint editorial of the newspapers of the Worker’s Party of Korea, the Korean People’s Army and the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.

The press release said that the editorial which greatly excited our nation and the people, is a proud review of the last year’s struggle stamped with the victorious heroic epic made under the Songun leadership of respected Marshal Kim Jong Il, the heaven-sent brilliant commander of Baekdu, and a guideline leading to the brilliant way in the new year.

Thanks to the ever-victorious Songun politics of the Marshal, last year the dignity and might of north Korea were demonstrated throughout the world, the nation’s sovereignty was safeguarded, signal events in the reunification movement took place, all that instilled in our people’s mind great joy and pride of upholding the great sun of the nation.

It pointed out that the slogan “Let us open a wide avenue of independent reunification through national cooperation under the banner of our nation-first spirit!”, as mentioned in the editorial, is an essential line that our nation ought to hold fast in the reunification movement.

The NDFSK fully supports and welcomes this slogan that stimulates the determination to exalt the nation’s excellence throughout the world, and build a dignified, prosperous and reunified country by embodying our nation-first idea of great President Kim Il Sung and respected Marshal Kim Jong Il, and will wage the energetic struggle to implement it.

It said that south Korean people together with the northern compatriots as a nation that made the brilliant history with the same blood on one land, will commandingly push forward our nation-first spirit, promote the reunification cause on the principle of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity and exert active efforts to realize the national cooperation on a firm basis.

And our people will conduct indomitable struggle to implement the historic June 15 joint declaration, it indicated.

It pointed out that the Songun politics of the respected Marshal is the most powerful politics that guarantees sovereignty and peaceful reunification of the nation, destiny and safety of the 70 million fellow countrymen.

It stressed that the south Korean people, this year too, will support as one the Songun politics, a treasured sword and a master key to every happiness, keeping in mind always the gratefulness for it.

As far as there is great Marshal Kim Jong Il, defender of the nation’s destiny and sun of the reunification at the head of the nation, and the 70 million compatriots who faithfully revere and follow him, no force on earth can block our people’s grand march to the independent reunification, though any sort of ordeals and hardship obstructs the way of the national reunification movement.

The south Korean people will implement the June 15 joint declaration and bring about a remarkable phase in achieving the earlier reunification under the banner of our nation-first spirit with the boundless national pride of upholding Marshal      Kim Jong Il.

So, they will adorn this year with glory and grandly and significantly greet the year 2005 which marks the 60^th anniversary of the country’s liberation, the press release stressed.
