South Korea reminiscent of past military fascist dictatorship

The south Koreans mark the 22^nd anniversary of the June Popular Uprising that left a proud page in the history of democratic movement against dictatorship.

The uprising was the pent-up grudge against pro-US military dictatorship and a nationwide struggle that demonstrated the south Koreans’ firm will not to allow domination and intervention of the foreign forces and fascist dictatorship. 

The people from different strata including the youth and students resolutely fought against the fascist dictatorship to deal a serious blow to the US colonial and military fascist dictatorship, chanting slogans “Abolition of the Constitution” and “Down with dictatorship”.

The fruition of democracy gained through the bloody struggle was abused by the deceptive “June 29 declaration” and the “civilian” regime.

The desire of independence, democracy and reunification has not yet been realized and the south Koreans suffer miseries by fascist suppression of the Lee regime.

The Lee regime, that took power under the signboard of “pragmatism”, recklessly represses pro-reunification forces, clamoring about the regain of “lost decade.” It totally denied the inter-Korean declarations and drove the inter-Korean relations to the brink of a war.

The Lee regime relentlessly quells the pro-reunification bodies in order to block the reunification movement of the Korean nation, trumpeting the purge of the leftist forces. It is unpardonable that the Lee regime arrested a pro-reunification figure who had conducted activities for national reconciliation, unity and reunification in violation of the National Security Law.

Broad segments of people vehemently denounce the Lee regime that disapproved the demonstrations in the center of the metropolis and branded the people as the enemy. In particular, they branded the Lee regime as a murderous one that drove the former president to death and have demanded apology and punishment of those responsible for it 

However, Lee Myung-bak defies the public opinion by reinforcing the fascist suppression, far from apologizing his sin and retiring from his post.

It is self-evident that the economy and the people’s livelihood have no hope and the deteriorating inter-Korean relations would lead to a war.

Reality requests the entire nation to turn out in the second June uprising against the Lee regime hell-bent on pro-US sycophancy and fascist dictatorship.

The people from different strata should achieve the desire of independence, democracy and reunification by vigorously waging the struggle to purge the Lee regime with the spirit of the June uprising that appalled the US and military fascist dictators.
