Steady advance of June 15 ear of reunification

  The desire and enthusiasm to achieve national reconciliation, unity and reunification are growing stronger among the Koreans in the north and the south as the days go by and no force on earth can check their will to achieve reunification by their concerted efforts.

  It is the main trend of the June 15 era of reunification for the Koreans to reject foreign forces and settle the issue of reunification by the concerted efforts of the nation, the driving force of reunification.

  The historic June 15 joint declaration ushered in the new era of independent reunification in which Koreans are working hard to put an end to the mistrust and confrontation between north and south of Korea and achieve reconciliation, unity and cooperation. All Koreans in the north and the south have added shine to the era of independent reunification, achieving landmark successes unprecedented in the history of the movement for reunification through national cooperation under the banner of “By our nation itself”.

  The October 4 Declaration for the Development of the North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity, a program for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, was adopted in October last year amid the enthusiastic support and approval of the Korean nation, putting the cause of reunification on a new historical stage in the efforts to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity.

  This proves that it has become an irresistible trend of the times for the nation to get reconciled and go united and head for peace and reunification.

  The Lee Myung-bak regime of south Korea is swimming against the trend of the times towards reunification by pursuing the inter-Korean confrontation in collusion with foreign forces.

  As soon as he took the presidency, Lee Myung-bak has advocated “relations” and “alliance” with the foreign forces contrary to the idea of “By our nation itself”.

  The Lee regime has slandered and hampered the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, the programs for independent reunification hailed by the entire Korean nation, advertising “pragmatism” against the nation.       

  The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration will always serve as a landmark in the era of independent reunification and a banner of winning victories.

  It is possible to achieve independent reunification and peace and prosperity, the requirements of the era and desire of the Korean nation, only when the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are upheld and implemented.

  National reconciliation, unity and independent reunification are what the south Korean people wish. The strength of the united popular masses is inexhaustible and no force on earth can match it.
