Songun politics for the country and nation

  The situation on the Korean Peninsula is tense and complicated. The US hawks have pursued the hostile policy toward north Korea to drive the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war.

  The south Korean conservative force is hell-bent on military confrontation with north Korea in collusion with the foreign force.

  The Songun politics of north Korea is a righteous politics for national independence and a noble patriotic one as it reliably protects the sovereignty of the Korean nation and the peace of the country from all forms of intervention by the imperialist aggressors and their allied forces and dynamically pave the way for reunification.

  Thanks to the Songun politics the Korean People’s Army has grown to be the invincible revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu having powerful means of attack and defense, the country has turned into an invulnerable fortress as all the servicepersons and people are fully armed with the revolutionary solider spirit.

  The invincible might of the Songun politics has been fully displayed in fact that it is reliably defending the peace on the Korean Peninsula and the security of the nation.

  If the Korean Peninsula were other country and region, a war would have broken out there a hundred times. It is entirely thanks to the Songun politics that peace has been preserved on the Korean Peninsula and the people in the north and the south of Korea have been able to lead a stable life.

  The imperialist forces of aggression, fearful of the Songun politics, the banner for defending peace, dare not touch even a blade of grass and a single tree in north Korea.

  The invincible might of the Songun politics also finds its expression in the fact that it helps pave the way of independent reunification.

  National reunification is a pending issue of the Korean nation and a prerequisite to independent development and prosperity of the nation.

  The Songun politics has removed showdown and war on the strength of arms, promoted national reconciliation and unity, and pushed the Korean nation to carry out the cause of independent reunification.    

  The materialization of the idea of “By our nation itself” enshrined in the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration is guaranteed by the Songun politics. The great successes made by the fellow countrymen at home and abroad in the efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations and advance the movement for national reunification under the banner of “By our nation itself” would be unthinkable apart from the Songun politics.         

  The Korean people will build a prosperous reunified country and demonstrate the dignity and mettle of the Korean nation throughout the world.
