We Bitterly Denounce the Fascist Atrocities

of the South Korean Security Authorities

On February 27, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency arrested Yun Gi-jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification, who has been wanted for 9 years, on charges of violation of the notorious “National Security Law”.

In this regard, the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification made public an emergency statement on February 27 under the title “We Strongly Denounce the Arrest of Yun Gi-jin, Chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification”.

Regarding the security authorities’ outrage against chairman Yun as an overall declaration of war to the progressive forces and the reunification movement of this land, the statement stressed that the south Korean youth and students would wage powerful struggle.

It set forth the following slogans of struggle.

Youth and students of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification, let us get angry! And turn out in the struggle!

Let the young men of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification rise up to rescue chairman Yun and ostracize the security organs!

Let us abolish the “National Security Law”, an anti-nation evil law, by the will of the youth and students in the south and the north of Korea and overseas!

And the North Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification made public a statement on March 1, denouncing the fascist atrocities of the south Korean security authorities as intolerable criminal acts against human rights and the national reunification, which obstruct the free reunification activities of the youth and students seething with justice and patriotism, and instigate the antagonism and confrontation between the fellow countrymen.

 The statement asserted that chairman Yun’s activities for the country’s peace and reunification can never be criminalized.

It disclosed that the south Korean security authorities revealed again their separatist and fascist nature through accusing the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification as an enemy-benefiting body and suppressing it in a cruel manner, and furthermore, arresting its chairman.

The statement urged the security authorities be plainly aware of the demand of the June 15 reunification era, and stop at once the fascist suppression on the patriotic youth and students.

The AINDF and the patriotic south Korean people from different social strata will more vigorously struggle to denounce the anti-nation crimes of the south Korean authorities which staged the nuclear war drills targeting north Korea in collusion with the outside forces, and incessantly commit the fascist suppression against the pro-reunification patriotic organizations and personages, and for the dynamic advance of the June 15 era of independent reunification.
