Open up a new era of “By our nation itself” with pride of the Korean nation

Chairman Yoon Gi-jin of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification made public a New Year article to declare this year’s struggle task of youth and students on January 10.

The article said that it is important to have a correct viewpoint on the national independence forces in order to realize reunification.

Noting the public support for the October 4 declaration and for the development of inter-Korean relations is getting higher, the article continued.

This year will be a year of fully implementing the October 4 declaration.

The trend to implement the October 4 declaration cannot be checked, no matter how the anti-reunification forces may make frantic efforts.

Now the idea of “By our nation itself” is the main trend of inter-Korean relations and reasonable proposals are presented to bring earlier the date of reunification.

A new era will come in which domination and intervention of the foreign forces and rotten politics of anti-national and pro-US conservatives are rejected.

We should open the first year of general advance for final victory with pride of pacemaker and high responsibility, thoroughly equipping with viewpoint of our nation is best.

The Korean people open a new chapter of history with its self-defensive forces in confrontation with the US, styling itself as the “strongest” in the world. Believe in strength of the Korean nation and exert all might of the Koreans in the confrontation between the Korean nation and the US. This is the key to victory.  

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are a great sword that propels the advance of and victory of independent reunification.

The main core of the June 15 joint declaration is “By our nation itself” and national independence and reasonable proposals to implement the June 15 joint declaration are stipulated in the October 4 declaration. Open up a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity by pooling efforts of our nation itself with the spirit of the June 15 declaration and banner of the October 4 declaration.        

The people from all walks of life should unite their strength in the struggle to implement the October 4 declaration with the June 15 All-Korean Committee as its core. In addition, pro-US sycophancy and anti-national acts towards reunification should not be tolerated. The National Security Law, a legacy of confrontation in the past, should be abolished and legal and institutional mechanisms be adjusted to maintain the idea of “By our nation itself.”

The main target of struggle of this year is the US.  

Disclose sinister aim of the US that advertises peace in the negotiation table while scheming to station the USFK permanently in south Korea and conduct struggle holding higher the banner of peace against war.   

Arouse public opinion to put an end to the US hostile policy against north Korea and conclude peace agreement on the Korean Peninsula. The south Korean people should wage struggle against joint military exercises and arms buildup. Struggle against the expansion of the US military bases to realize its “strategic flexibility” should be continued.      

Unity is a way to live. All civic organization in south Korea should be united.

The struggle to withdraw the US troops from south Korea should be intensified and open up a new era of “By our nation itself” with pride of our nation is best.
