Now the Korean people significantly mark the 35th anniversary of the publication of the July 4 South-North Joint Statement at the time when the struggle of giving importance to the nation, maintaining peace and achieving great national unity are intensified under the banner of “By our nation itself.”

The publication of the joint statement in July 1972 was a historic event as it made the first breakthrough in the wall of division and instilled confidence and hope for reunification into the Korean nation. It is the fruit of the Juche-oriented idea and line for reunification, and tireless leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

Seeing through the rapidly changing internal and external situation and the lawful demand of the development of the reunification movement in the beginning of 1972, President Kim Il Sung advanced the line of inter-Korean negotiation and arranged the high-level political talks for the first time in history of national division and wisely led to adopt at the talks the joint statement, the core of which is the three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity.

With the publication of the joint statement the entire fellow countrymen could have the program common to the nation for reunification to be maintained in accomplishing the cause of reunification. The Korean nation’s reunification movement ushered in a fresh turning–point to propel the reunification movement by the Korean nation itself, rejecting domination and intervention of foreign forces.

Thanks to the three principles of national reunification advanced by the President, the Korean nation has waged the struggle for the country’s reunification, frustrating ceaseless challenges and obstructive moves of the anti-reunification forces within and without.

The south Korean people from all social standings extend the warmest gratitude to President Kim Il Sung who devoted his all to the country’s reunification until the last moment of his life, advancing the most righteous idea and line for Korea’s reunification with his extraordinary wisdom and outstanding leadership.

President Kim Il Sung’s instructions for Korea’s reunification, is being carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, the brilliant commander of Mt. Baekdu and the sun of the Korean nation.

Leader Kim Jong Il, who regards Korea’s reunification as his lifetime mission, formulated the three principles of national reunification, the 10-point program of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo put forward by President Kim Il Sung as the three charters of national reunification, thus giving the fellow countrymen the invincible banner of national reunification. He arranged the historic Pyongyang summit and published the June 15 inter-Korean joint declaration with his great patriotic courageous decision to open the era of “By our nation itself” in the Korean Peninsula.

The June 15 joint declaration, a milestone for Korea’s reunification in the 21st century, is a precious result of the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il who adheres to the President’s idea of reunification and feats for Korea’s reunification. And it is also the brilliant embodiment of the three principles of Korea’s reunification.

Thorough implementation of the June 15 joint declaration hastens Korea’s reunification in accordance with intention and interests of the Korean nation on the basis of the three principles of Korea’s reunification.

Now the anti-reunification forces in south Korea put artificial obstacles in implementation of the inter-Korean joint declaration, pursuing impure political goal contrary to the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

In particular, the Grand National Party, which has the same aim against reunification with their predecessors ran amuck to reduce the July 4 Joint Statement to a scrap of paper, makes desperate efforts to check the advance of independent reunification, slandering the June 15 as the humiliating day and the idea of “By our nation itself.”

 The south Korean people from all walks of life should turn out in the struggle to preserve the June 15 era, holding higher the three principles of Korea’s reunification and the banner of “By our nation itself.” The inter-Korean issues should be solved on the principle of the Korean nation first and resolutely reject all the anti-national moves to hamper the implementation.

The south Koreans should intensify the struggle for peace against war to cope with the US war moves against north Korea and resolutely frustrate the GNP’s ambition to take power by forming the great alliance against conservatism as soon as possible.

The AINDF, together with the south Korean people from all walks of life who love the country and wish the reunification, will surely realize the historic cause of Korea’s reunification, a lifetime desire of President Kim Il Sung, by positively supporting leader Kim Jong Il’s Songun politics and his leadership for reunification.

Today we mark the 13th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung’s demise, the sun of Juche and benevolent father of the Korean nation, in humble reverence at the time when the national dignity and might are demonstrated over the world thanks to the brilliant Songun commander of Mt. Baekdu and the entire fellow countrymen energetically struggle to hasten the national reunification under the banner of “By the Korean nation itself”.

On this day, the vanguard fighters and the south Korean people from all walks of life pay their high tribute to President Kim Il Sung, who performed undying exploits for the country, age, and history, longing for the President.

The 80-odd year life of President Kim Il Sung is recorded as a glorious life of great revolutionary, prominent statesman and peerless great man who glorified turbulent 20th century with his extraordinary personality and nature.

He, who was praised as the sun of the nation and the star of Korea in his teens by the Korean nation, fathered the immortal Juche idea with his farsighted wisdom and faculties of inquiry and opened independent era of development of human history, a new age, in which the working people carve out their destiny independently. He honorably achieved the national liberation and independence and defended sovereignty of the country by leading two revolutionary wars against Japanese and US imperialists to victory under the banner of Songun.

The President, an outstanding statesman and a genius of creation and construction, turned north Korea, a powerful socialist country independent in politics, self-sufficient in national economy and self-reliant in defense, to open heyday of national prosperity. The President, who regarded it as his motto “The people are my God,” made Juche Korea a harmonious large family of single-hearted unity by administering the politics of love and trust.

In particular, the President made sure that the Korean nation is blessed with leaders and Generals through generations by successfully solving the problem of the inheritance of the Juche cause.

The President, who was grieved over national division, opened a turning-point of independent reunification by advancing the three charters for Korea’s reunification, the patriotic program for the Korean nation, and devoted his all to build a reunified country through national independence and great national unity until the last moment of his great life.

The south Koreans are longing for the President, the peerless patriot, who showed great love for the south Korean people who suffered under the domination of foreign forces after Korea’s liberation from the Japanese colonial rule.

The President had enjoyed boundless respects and praise of the world people as the veteran of the world politics and the greatest man representing the 20th century for he performed immortal contributions to the independence cause of humankind for independence and socialism through his energetic external activities in his lifetime.

Indeed, the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who rendered great contributions for the nation and the independence cause of humankind with his extraordinary idea and unique leadership, overcoming manifold trials and hardships unprecedented in history, will be recorded forever.

The revolutionary cause of Juche started by the President is now carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, the son of Mt. Baekdu, and the revolutionary history of the President will be continued century after century.

Kim Jong Il, who has the noble moral obligation, built the Kumsusam Memorial Palace, the supreme temple of Juche, to preserve the President in state and instituted the Day of the Sun, the Juche year and the Kim Il Sung Constitution to go down history of the President to posterity.

Leader Kim Jong Il, the brilliant commander of Mt. Baekdu, firmly defended the country, nation and socialism with his original Songun politics that embodies the Songun revolutionary idea and line of the President, frustrating vicious offensives of the US-led allied forces of imperialism against north Korean and socialism.

He turned Juche Korea into a position of a powerful nation no formidable enemy dare to provoke to satisfy the centuries-old desire of the nation and bring about the dawn of reunification.

He, who regards the President’s instructions for reunification as his lifelong mission, arranged the historic Pyongyang summit and published the June 15 inter-Korean joint declaration and opened the era of independent reunification in which the Korean nation realize Korea’s reunification by the Korean people themselves.

Indeed, thanks to Kim Jong Il, who accelerates the ultimate accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche with his boundless fidelity and moral obligation to the President and outstanding political capability, President Kim Il Sung is alive in the hearts of the Korean nation and mankind and the future of the Korean nation is bright.

Now the AINDF vanguard fighters and people from all walks of life are fully determined to achieve the country’s reunification, the long-cherished desire of the Korean nation, by holding President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the sun of Juche through the age and glorifying the idea and feats of reunification of the President.

 Bearing in mind the fact that following the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il guarantees prosperity of Kim Il Sung’s nation and the bright future of a reunified powerful nation, we will positively support the patriotic Songun politics.

The south Korean people from all social standings should intensify the struggle of attaching importance to the nation, maintaining peace and achieving unity under the banner of “By our nation itself” and open the heyday of the independent cause of reunification by forming the great alliance against conservatism as soon as possible and frustrate the ambitious moves of the US and the pro-US conservatives to take power.

The AINDF will hasten the day of reunification, the desire of President Kim Il Sung, by positively supporting the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il with national pride of having the eternal sun of Juche.

Today we mark the 54th anniversary of historic victory of the Korean War at the time when the struggle for anti-US, anti-war and the withdrawal of the US troops from south Korea are intensified across south Korea.

The Korean War ignited by the US was the most barbarous and aggressive war unprecedented in history of humankind in a bid to obliterate north Korea and make the Korean nation slave.

The US mobilized more than two million troops including one third of its ground force, one fifth of its naval force, most of the Pacific Fleet and troops from 15 satellite countries and south Korea.

The US slaughtered the Korean people in the north and the south of Korea during the three-year-long war in most barbarous way and reduced cities and villages to ashes.

However, it suffered the ignominious defeat with great loss of troops and war equipment by the heroic struggle of the north Korean army and people firmly rallied around the party and leader. It had to sign the armistice agreement on July 25, 1953.

The victory in the war is the brilliant result of the Juche-oriented military strategy and tactics and outstanding commanding art of President Kim Il Sung, legendary hero of the anti-Japanese war and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander. It is the remarkable event to be recorded in the history of the anti-US struggle of the Korean nation and in realization of global independent cause against imperialism.

The brilliant exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who humbled the arrogance of US imperialism, boasted of being the “strongest” in the world and demonstrated dignity of the nation and unyielding spirit of heroic Korea throughout the world, will shine through posterity.

The victory in the war taught only a strong army can defend sovereignty and dignity of a nation.

The immortal feats of President Kim Il Sung is being carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, a peerless brilliant commander.

Kim Jong Il formulated and enforces the Songun politics that embodies the Songun idea and the Songun revolutionary line of the President who defeated US and Japanese imperialism. He made north Korea a powerful country and demonstrated sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation, foiling reckless war maneuvers of the US against north Korea.

The victory after victory in the showdown with the US proves the brilliant exploits of President Kim Il Sung will shine forever by leader Kim Jong Il and ever victorious history and tradition of the Korean nation will be eternal.

The US relocates its troops in south Korea and massively introduces modern war hardware to south Korea in order to recover the shameful defeat it had suffered in the 1950s.                                                                                                                                

The south Korean people should intensify the struggle for peace against war to frustrate the US reckless war maneuvers against north Korea.

The US must give up its anachronistic hostile policy against north Korea and leave south Korea at once with its troops and war hardware.

The south Korean people from all walks of life should vigorously wage the struggle to frustrate wild ambition of the Grand National Party to take power and ostracize the GNP in the forthcoming presidential elections.     

The Songun politics of leader Kim Jong Il is a decisive guarantee to achieve final victory in the showdown with the US and to accomplish the historic cause of independent reunification.

Bearing the fact that the Songun politics guarantees sovereignty and dignity of the nation, peace and reunification, the south Korean people from all social standings should positively support the Songun politics.

The AINDF, together with the people who wish peace and reunification, will surely bring about a new society free from the foreign forces and the dawn of reunification by invigorating a nationwide struggle to put an end to the US military occupation and domination that has been lasted for over a half century.
