Korean people mark the 58th anniversary of the Democratic People¡¯s
Marking the day,
they are filled with deep reverence for President Kim Il Sung, founder and leader of the DPRK, and they resolve to
build a great prosperous powerful nation firmly united around leader Kim Jong Il who is demonstrating the
dignity and honor of the country with his energetic Songun leadership.

auspicious day ushered in a great turning point in the socio-political life of
the Korean people and the development of the Korean revolution and shines brilliantly
in the annals of Korean history.
Since then
the north Koreans have become a powerful and dignified people shaping their
destiny independently and created a new era of social progress and great
change.
After
achieving the cause of nation building, the President set forth the
Juche-oriented idea and policy of state building and wisely led the efforts to
implement them.
He developed
the government into a genuine people¡¯s power that gives topmost priority to the
people¡¯s interests and works to realize them and into a government supported
and trusted by all.
He defined
the adherence to independence as the basic principle to be maintained in state
building and activities, set up the government according to the people¡¯s will
and in Korean way, formulated all state policies by reflecting the people¡¯s
aspiration and led them to carry them out by their efforts.
Thanks to his
seasoned leadership, the DPRK government was able to resolutely reject all
forms of domination, interference and pressure of outside forces, solve all
problems arising in the revolution and construction independently and exercise
its sovereignty in international relations.
Under the
banner of the DPRK headed by the President the Korean people won victory in the
Fatherland Liberation War against the armed invasion of the imperialist allied
forces led by the US and defended the country¡¯s freedom and independence, successfully
carried out socialist construction, thus building people-centered socialism independent
in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defense.
His idea and
policy of state building are now enriched by leader Kim Jong Il and the DPRK has reached a higher stage of its
development.
He ensures
that the revolutionary idea of the President is followed as guidelines in all
state activities.
By upholding
the banner of Songun he has built up military strength of the country and
achieved single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks to lay a solid
socio-political foundation of the DPRK. He established a new state leading
system with the National Defense Commission as the pivot to develop the DPRK
into a unique socialist state that defends the country and achieves national
prosperity in the face of all difficulties on the strength of Songun.
Today the
DPRK is reliably defending the national dignity and sovereignty by dint of
single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks with the army as their mainstay.
This is attributable to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
In the 1990s when
the country was standing at the crossroads of life and death a large number of
structures of lasting value including hydropower stations and industrial
establishments were built across the country, land realignment and waterway
projects were pushed to give a facelift to the country and socialist culture
was flourished under his leadership.
The
publication of the historic

is the strength of single-minded unity of the Korean people who are united
firmly behind the leadership of the revolution with one idea and purpose under
the banner of Songun.
The DPRK founded by President Kim Il Sung will be prosperous for ever.
