Fruitless US Middle
East policy
The US and other
western experts have condemned the Bush administration¡¯s Middle East policy as a
failure in terms of politics, military and morality.
Claiming that
the Bush administration has proliferated weapons of mass destruction rather
than checking their spread, they asserted that the US war on
terrorism has fostered confrontation and antagonism in the Middle East, resulting
in a vicious cycle of murder and vengeance.
The US
occupied Iraq by force of arms under the pretext that the alleged plan of the
Saddam Hussein regime for the development of nuclear, biological and chemical
weapons posed a grave challenges to global peace and security.
Three years
have passed since then, but no WMD has been found in Iraq.
The US invasion of Iraq was not
aimed at providing the Iraqis with freedom and democracy, but at taking the
rich oil deposits in this country.
The Americans
intended to take control of the Middle East as a whole.
That is why
the Americans are rationalizing their occupation of Iraq.
Now Iraqi
resistance forces are intensifying their activities against the US occupation
policy.
As a result,
the death toll of US troops has exceeded 2,500.
Meanwhile, some
countries are withdrawing their troops from Iraq.
Poland has already
withdrawn its troops by more than half and Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominica and other
countries finished the pullout of their troops.
The Iraq war launched
by the US under the
pretext of war against terrorism has only brought about destruction, murder and
chaos.
Sectarian
conflicts between Shias, Sunnis and Kurds are ever deteriorating, which leads
to constant outrages. Iraq is literally
on the verge of civil war.
The Bush
administration¡¯s combat on terrorism is fanning hostility between Islamic world
and the West.
Facts show
that the more desperately the US clings to
its anti-terrorist war in the Middle East the more
flagrantly it will violate the sovereignty of the Islamic nations and it will
lead to instability and insecurity.
Dubbing Iran¡¯s peaceful
nuclear activities a program for the development of nuclear weapons, the
Americans are trying to take international sanctions by using the UN while
attempting to launch a military attack.
Their drive
is likened to what they did just before launching the invasion of Iraq.
The US invasion of Iraq gave a
serious lesson that those countries that value sovereignty should build up their
own deterrent in order not to fall victim to the US combat on
terrorism.
If the US continues to
go on the road of invasion and intervention under the signboard of combat on
terrorism and spread of democracy they will face greater international
rejection and isolation.
