Kim Jong Il’s authority and influence swelling in south Korea

The authority of leader Kim Jong Il becomes absolute in south Korea.

Admiration for the leader and carrying his photos in the publications had been banned by law in south Korea and in the days of military dictatorship. However, after the publication of the historic inter-Korean joint declaration, photos of the leader and the articles eulogizing him are being carried in mass media of south Korea and his photos are hang on the wall of public institutions and even in the building of government.

More than 3,300 photos of leader Kim Jong Il and about 4,000 articles on his greatness, repercussions, impressions and interviews were carried in the publications of south Korea in five years.

Aphorisms of leader Kim Jong Il become motto of the progressive youth and students and are posted in places of struggle and seminar on the Juche idea and forums on the Juche idea are held lawfully and many south Korean people look up to the leader as “general,” “veteran statesman” and “mysterious leader.”

Even the most conservative Ministry of Defense called the leader Chairman Kim Jong Il of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Some politicians of the ruling and opposition parties who seek seizure of power regard that they can win the presidential elections if they meet with the leader.
