Formation of a permanent nationwide solidarity organization

An inaugural ceremony of the preparatory committee for joint functions of Koreans in the south, the north and abroad took place in Mt Geumgang resort on March 3 to implement the June 15 joint declaration and an inaugural declaration and a joint press release were adopted.

The preparatory committee is a permanent nationwide solidarity organization of the reunification movement which composed of political parties, organizations and public figures of all circles in the south, the north and abroad, the first of its kind ever since the division of the country.

The formation of the committee is a national historic event making it possible to pave a wide avenue of national reconciliation, cooperation, peace and reunification, regardless of differences in idea and ideology, political view, religious belief, class and social stratum, political affiliation and region.

With the formation of the tripartite preparatory committee for joint function reflecting fervent reunification enthusiasm and patriotic will of the entire Korean people, the Korean people could have powerful driving force of the great national unity and national reunification and the reunification movement could be vigorously advanced along the road of independence.

The entire Korean nation should turn out on a wide scale in the struggle for independence and June 15 reunification era.
