A condemnation on the GNP

The Propaganda Bureau of the Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea issued a condemnation on the Grand National Party on January 27. The condemnation reads.

Condemnation on the GNP, a group of corrupt politicians

The south Korean people gave a death sentence to the old and corrupt politics by defeating the Grand National Party in the December 19 presidential election last year.

The GNP's defeat was a stern judgement the people gave to the traitorous party that had been engaged in pro-US flunkeyism and anti-north Korea confrontation against the will of the nation.

So far from learning a due lesson from the ignominious defeat, the GNP has become more frenzied in treachery, national division and war.

Our people can no longer allow the GNP itself that has been reduced to "an alien party", adding disgrace to the south Korean political history.

The National Democratic Front of South Korea bitterly condemns the GNP, a group of corrupt politicians, reflecting the will of all people to open an age of new politics by burying it to the last.

Front runner of corrupt politics

The GNP is the offspring of the defunct New Korea Party, successor to the Democratic Liberal Party which had been formed through the merger of the Reunification Democratic Party, the New Democratic Republican Party and the Democratic Justice Party. The merger was recorded in the south Korean history as a heinous political coup.

Leaders of the GNP were all arch traitors, fascist murderers and anti-reunification maniacs without exception.

The constitution and character of a party depend on its initiators and leaders.

Chun Doo-hwan of the Democratic Justice Party, who can be said to be the three-generation forefather of the GNP, was a nefarious military dictator. He, at the instructions of Americans, usurped the power through the December 12 purge-in-the-army coup in 1979 and drenched the whole Gwangju City in a pool of blood by cruelly cracking down on the Gwangju uprising in 1980.

And Kim Jong-pil of the New Democratic Republican Party was a leader of the notorious Yushin dictatorship, who was engaged in political terrorism and plot since he was the first director of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency.

Kim Young-sam of the Reunification Democratic Party is a political prostitute who has bartered away the nation's interests for his own splendor. In particular, he is a dreg of mankind who put up the sword when the whole nation was in bitter sorrow for the greatest national mourning.

The New Korea Party inherited the nefarious nature from the DJP, the craftiness from the NDRP and the traitorous nature from the RDP as they were.

The people know well the crimes committed against the nation and history by the leaders of the GNP, which has become the target of public hatred for its treachery to the nation, anti-reunification acts, suppression of democracy and irregularities and corruption.

The GNP born out of the parties which had subsisted on treachery, fascism and division of the nation has harped on the same string of the obsolete politics of south Korea since its outset up to now.

It is just the GNP that has reiterated regionalism, conservative politics and corrupt politics, the deep-rooted vice of the south Korean politics.

It far surpasses all the defunct and incumbent traitorous parties in the bad habit of frantically pursuing the treachery to the nation, perpetuation of national division and inter-Korean confrontation.

Such nature of the party has been revealed more clearly since the publication of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration and the advent of the Bush administration.

It has maliciously abused the joint declaration, the milestone of independent reunification, disturbed its implementation and even served as a taskforce of the Bush government for a nuclear war against north Korea in the end of advocating continuous military presence of the US troops in south Korea.

It is too natural that it was defeated in the presidential election, condemned by the people as a "party of the United States", "anti-reunification group" and "corrupt party".

Dump of old politicians

The GNP is a den of traitors and anti-reunification elements who betray the nation.

All the rightist conservative parties in south Korea pursue flunkeyism against the nation.

The GNP, however, surpasses all other parties in the traitorous politics.

Former president Lee Hoi-chang, chairman Suh Chong-won and all other leading members of the party are front runners in currying favor with Washington or tightrope walkers who often knock the rear gate of the US embassy in Seoul. They are all the pro-US elements who advocate "strengthening of the south Korea-US alliance".

Disgusted by the way of living of the GNP that is obsessed in the traitorous logic that pro-Americanism leads to success in life, even media dubbed it "the south Korean branch of the US Republican Party" and an "alien party".

The GNP is led by despots who are notorious for dictatorship.

The party involves the cutthroats who mercilessly cracked down on the patriots by fabricating the so-called "rebellion case", the "Park Jong-chol torture case" and many other cases during the repressive rule of the Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo regimes.

In the party there are many ultra rightist hysterics who took the lead in establishing the new security-oriented rule to intensify the fascist suppression under the Kim Young-sam government.

It is also a hotbed of irregularities and corruption.

Such corruption scandals as the "scandal of the National Intelligence Agency" and the "tax-evasion scandal", which stunned the people, illustrated the corrupt nature of the "white-color thieves" of the GNP.

There are in the party the corrupt politicians who have fattened themselves by bleeding the people white through the government-business collusion.

Some of its members were involved in the large-scale Hanbo Business Group scandal, through which lawmakers provided conglomerates with illicit profits and then pressed them for a colossal amount of money. A lawmaker from the party embezzled 200 million won and others pocketed illicit funds, even putting "mythical creatures" in the shade.

It is also the GNP members who distributed money and other valuables during election campaigns and who indulge in gambling and foreign tour with the illicitly amassed fortunes and tax collected from the people.

Blowflies gather in ditches.

During the last presidential election, migratory politicians destitute of political faith and principle gathered in the GNP.

Now the party has been reduced to a dump of political sewage.

With the appearance of the so-called "Lee Hoi-chang wind" before the election, migrants including chameleons of the Millennium Democratic Party and bat-blind politicians who could not fathom even an inch of the situation joined the GNP one after another.

Chameleons of the minor opposition United Liberal Democrats joined the GNP to take the posts including the chairman of the national renovation committee and the deputy president and several other lawmakers followed them.

Even those who seceded from the GNP in protest against Lee Hoi-chang's monarchism rejoined it shamelessly and lawmakers of the Democratic People's Party involved themselves in the GNP, betraying their political creed.

An independent lawmaker joined the GNP a week after he formed a new reformist party dubbed "Rainbow Coalition", thus gaining the bad name of "migrant No.1in the new millennium".

During the election period last year, there were so many political migrants and political prostitutes that even media said, "There are many filthy guys in the GNP and they should be careful of AIDS and syphilis in prostituting."

In conclusion, the GNP is a dump of corrupt politics and headquarters of the old political forces, which teem with migratory politicians who easily betray their honor and political creed merely for their own success, promotion and interests, with political merchants obsessed in political power and with experts of irregularities and corruption.

Now the GNP defeated in the presidential election is busy to rename itself and reform the leadership in a bid to escape from an extreme crisis.

However, it is nothing but a desperate and last-ditch effort.

A viper is a viper even if it casts off its skin.

The GNP is the symbol of backward politics of south Korea and a disgrace and tragedy to the people.

All those desirous of a new society and new politics should struggle to completely bury the party which they sentenced to stern punishment in the presidential election.

The GNP has no future as long as it continues running counter to the trend of the times and the public opinion.

All the politicians of reason and high intelligence should know that they can get nothing but shame in the GNP. They should bid farewell to the traitorous party and join in the large stream toward a new society and new politics.
