The Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea sent an appeal to all south Korean people.

The appeal reads.

Appeal to All People

All the south Korean people!

US President Bush continues to make aggressive remarks against north Korea.

Some days ago, he made adventurous remarks in his State of the Union address at the Congress that "north Korea attempts to develop missiles and other mass destruction weapons" and "forms an axis of evil".

It is indeed an absurdity which reveals Washington's scheme to strangle independent and dignified north Korea and to intentionally strain the situation of the Korean Peninsula for a war.

The military threat to north Korea is just the threat to the south Korean people and the invasion and attack upon the north are those on the south Koreans.

Accordingly, invasion of north Korea is doubtlessly a breach of peace of the whole Korean Peninsula.

Now all the south Korean people are expressing their resentment at Bush's arrogant remarks.

The south Korean people have been deprived of national dignity and sovereignty for more than half a century entirely because of the cursed United States.

The south Korean people have been suffering from humiliation as a unique subordinate people to the US and the Korean nation is undergoing tragedy as a unique split nation for nearly 60 years.

When the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration was adopted, all the south Korean people shouted at the top of their voices "Long live independent reunification!", for they had experienced the bitter sorrow of colonial yoke and national division by the United States.

The joint declaration is a declaration and manifestation of the Korean nation's inflexible will to achieve independent reunification.

With the inauguration of the Bush government in the United States, however, grave obstacles have been laid on the way to independent reunification and a danger of war hovers over the Korean Peninsula.

Owing to the repeated bellicose remarks of Bush who advocates a hard-line policy toward north Korea, the reconciliatory mood between south and north Korea has returned to a confrontational one, which disturbs the implementation of the joint declaration.

Dialogue and travel between both parts of Korea have been stalled, exchange and cooperation deadlocked and even the reunions of separated families and relatives suspended.

All the south Korean people, unable to overlook the situation, have toned up their voices against Washington's arrogance and intensified the anti-US struggle.

This time, Bush reiterated aggressive and violent remarks tantamount to a declaration of war against north Korea. How can we remain indifferent?

This declaration is just a declaration of war and aggressive challenge against the south Korean people of the same blood with the north Koreans.

We cannot but pay attention to the fact that Bush let loose such bellicose remarks prior to his trip to Seoul.

It is evident that his Seoul visit will be a trip of a warmonger to finally confirm the preparedness of war against north Korea and an anti-reunification trip to totally disturb the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration.

Therefore, we reject his coming visit as a breach of peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula, infringement upon the Korean people's will for independent reunification and insult upon the dignity of the nation.

All people!

To check Bush's visit is a call of the whole nation to preserve peace and achieve independent reunification of the country.

The current situation calls upon all people to resolutely turn out with fervent love for the nation and country in the struggle against Bush and the United States.

Bush's visit to Seoul will lead to an anti-north war which will ruin the whole nation.

Under this grave situation alternative of peace and war, we need to have a firm resolve and courage.

Onlooking is death and hesitation is ruin.

All people who truly value the destiny of the country and nation and want to live independently should turn out in the anti-Bush, anti-US struggle.

Let us resolutely oppose the criminal visit of Bush who brings a tinderbox of aggressive war and deal a heavy blow to him!

All people who want national reconciliation, unity and reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration should resolutely check Bush's trip to Seoul!

All the pro-reunification organizations should combine the struggle for the implementation of the joint declaration with the anti-US, anti-Bush struggle.

Let us intensify the struggle for the pullout of the US troops, the occupationers, plunderers and murderers!

The victory of the anti-US, anti-Bush struggle depends on the unity of all people.

Workers, farmers, youth and students, intellectuals, businessmen, clergymen and all other people should join their mind and strength in the anti-US, anti-Bush struggle in disregard of their classes, party affiliations, political views and residence in order to realize national independence and build a reunified country.

The Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea expresses the belief that all the south Korean people will positively respond to this patriotic appeal reflecting the public desire for reunification.
