Statement of the NDFSK spokesman

The US War hawks planed to stage the large-scale joint military exercise “Ulji Focus Lens” from August 18, abetting the south Korean military authority.

Notwithstanding the US now attempts to cloak the aggressive and provocative nature of the war exercise clamoring about “annual exercise of the commanderships” and “computer simulation”, it is nothing other than a sophistry to mislead the public opinion at home and abroad.

The joint military exercise “Ulji Focus Lens” is apparently a nuclear test war and a preliminary war in the purpose of pressurizing the north militarily and complete the plan of the preemptive nuclear attack on the north.

A touch-and-go situation is prevailing nowadays on the Korean Peninsula where a war would break out any moment owing to the US moves to stifle north Korea militarily.

The US war hawks who made public the “Operational Plan 5030” which fixed the preemptive attack on north Korea as an established fact, is putting spurs to carry out it and speeding up the relocation of the US troops and the deployment of the most advanced war equipments in south Korea.

Some time ago, it dispatched even the task force brigade force to stage open war exercises.

The joint military exercise “Ulji Focus Lens” the US planed to stage under these circumstances, shows that the “Operational Plan 5030” reached the full-dress working stage.

Still worse, the above said exercise is being staged ahead of the six- party talks to settle the nuclear issue between north Korea and the US.

The world focuses its attention on the six-party talks arranged by the magnanimous generosity and the active efforts of the north.

If the talks are to be proceeding successfully, a favorable atmosphere should be provided first and foremost.

Nevertheless, the US is staging continuously the military maneuvers that threaten the dialogue partner and impair the atmosphere of the talks although it is blustering of the dialogue.

The reality obviously shows once again that the dialogue clamored by the US is a lie and its ambition of aggression to suffocate the north by force has never changed.

The NDFSK brands the war exercise of the war hawks in south Korea and the US as an intolerable challenge to the desire and aspiration of all the people and mankind of the world for peace, stability and reunification of the Korean Peninsula and sternly condemns it in the name of all the people.

Dialogue and war can never coexist.

The US should contemplate over the evil consequences its rash moves of aggressive war exercise against north Korea would entail and revoke at once the plan to stage the provocative military exercise “Ulji Focus Lens” and accept the six-party talks with a sincere attitude.

The military war hawks on this land should be mindful that if they cooperate with the US in its aggressive war moves against north Korea, they cannot avoid the strong protest and condemnation of all the people and behave themselves.

The NDFSK will wage the anti-US anti-war struggle more vigorously to resolutely smash the reckless war-provocation moves of the south Korean and the US belligerent forces to invade north Korea with all the people who value the destiny of the country and nation.
