Statement of NDFSK spokesman

The spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea released a statement on March 16.

The statement reads.

Now public anger flares up as the mean two-sided nature of the Grand National Party has been revealed once again by a detailed report of the north Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee and a statement of its spokesman.

Now the GNP, so far from confessing the truth of its “dispatch of secret envoys to the north”, is maliciously slandering the north, dubbing the issue an “intrigue” and “intervention in internal affairs”, even after the truth has been brought to daylight.

It is a never-to-be-condoned crime to conceal the party’s vicious nature and return the bettering inter-Korean relations to confrontation and distrust.

No amount of sophism can refute the evidences presented by the north as regards the GNP’s dispatch of secret envoys to the north.

The GNP must frankly confess the details of the case, make an apology to the people and accept special investigation.

Its utterance about “intervention in internal affairs” is also a rash act of the ignorant.

The economic cooperation between Hyundai of the south and the APPC of the north, which enjoys public hail and support, is an important project directly related to inter-Korean reconciliation, unity and reunification and a national project to secure the peace, stability, co-prosperity and co-interests on the Korean Peninsula.

The GNP has cast “suspicious” eyes on the cooperation and even held fast to a “special prosecutor system” in an attempt to harm the cooperative relations between the south and the north. This is an intervention in north Korea’s internal affairs.

In particular, the GNP’s efforts to link the issue of “payment to the north” to the historic Pyongyang summit which produced the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration are enough to prove who are really meddling in other’s affairs.

If the GNP intends to take issue with meddling in others’ affairs, it should slander the US which dislikes the south-north joint declaration and obstructs the inter-Korean cooperation case by case.

Uttering no word of protest to the United States, it advocates introduction of a special prosecutor system against the cooperation within the same nation. This shows that the GNP is a band of servants for Americans and stupid fellows who cannot discern intervention in internal affairs.

The GNP and its predecessors have bribed their US and Japanese masters with tens of billions of dollars, paid a tremendous amount of money to other nations for the so-called “northward policy” and committed government-business collusion and corruption scandals and fabricated mysterious death cases to kill lots of patriotic youth and students. All these should be the objects of special investigation.

The GNP must not act rashly.

Its frantic challenge to the trend of the times and public opinion will only hasten its ruin.

It must learn a due lesson from its ignominious defeat in the presidential election last year, discontinue stirring up inter-Korean confrontation and disband itself.

All people should see through the plot of the GNP, which employs every means and method for its interests and strategy, struggle to dissolve the traitorous party and reject the special prosecutor system.

The NDFSK, together with all people who hold high the banner of “By the concerted efforts of the nation”, will bury the traitorous GNP and achieve the independent reunification of the country through great national unity.
